$55,000 could help foster literacy through the Global Reading Challenge for one year.
With this reading incentive program for 4th and 5th graders enrolled in Seattle Public Schools, students form teams and read selected books, then take part in a trivia competition.
$100,000 could help fight censorship for one year.
The Books Unbanned e-card program, in partnership with other library systems, is a way Seattle helps to fight censorship and champion intellectual freedom by giving free access to the Library's e-collections.
